Beat the Heat

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

August is hot in Walla Walla. It’s damn hot. I’m looking forward to Fall. But in the meantime, venturing out to the patio after the sun has been down for awhile, I find a nice bottle of JLC Winery Rosé The Muse from winemaker Lynne Chamberlain can be just the ticket. I tried it again last week and was thoroughly refreshed. It felt kind of like diving into a mountain lake. Maybe even skinny dipping. Natural. Cool. Delicious.

Still hanging on to that DaMa Riesling and the Sleight of Hand Magician (Gewurztraminer) too. There’s always a place for those. The Magician goes so nicely with the spread from Farmers Market this week. Organic greens, haricots verts, and lots of berries. Fresh bread. Could not resist the Monteillet Fromagerie spread. Such good cheese!

Just make sure you don’t forget the sparkling for Sunday Brunch, okay? And we’ll make it to Crush and cooler temperatures.
